Fellowships

Because of the large number of operations performed by the members of the NYULH Neurosurgery Department, clinical fellowships may be offered in the following fields, under the direction of the faculty member indicated:

  • Spine Surgery (Dr. Anthony Frempong-Boadu)
  • Boehm Fellowship in Stereotactic Radiosurgery (Dr. Douglas Kondziolka)
  • Pediatric Neurosurgery (Dr. Jeffrey Wisoff)
  • Endovascular Surgery (Dr. Howard Riina)
  • Peripheral Nerve Surgery (Dr. Stephen Russell)
  • Epilepsy Surgery (Dr. Werner Doyle)
  • Skull Base Surgery and Radiosurgery (Drs. Chandra Sen and Douglas Kondziolka)

All fellowships are offered with the understanding that residency training in the operating room is prioritized, and that NYULH neurosurgery residents always have “first refusal” for operative cases.

In addition, the Department of Neurosurgery offers the following fellowships on an ongoing basis:

  • International Visiting Fellowship with Dr. Jafar Jafar through the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS). Fellowship information.
  • Pediatric Neurosurgery-Intra- and Postresidency
