Neurostimulation Laboratory

The Fresco Institute Neurostimulation Laboratory was established in 2009 with the goal of investigating neurophysiology of the brain in health and disease, as well as exploring potential treatment options for neurologic and psychiatric disorders. The Fresco Institute research team is currently conducting several research studies and clinical trials exploring potential therapeutic effects of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS).
The Neurostimulation Laboratory is equipped with NeuroStar clinical system, Magstim Super Rapid stimulator with a BiStim module, Brainsight frameless neuronavigation system and Mini-CT Soterix Medical tDCS machines. The Laboratory’s analysis software allows integration of TMS, EMG, EEG, anatomical MRI, and fMRI data. The Neurostimulation Laboratory is well equipped to support clinical and pharmacological studies and experiments that require advanced noninvasive physiological mapping or monitoring.
