Description: One fellowship position. The Department of Pathology at New York University Langone Medical Center offers a one-year NON-ACGME accredited fellowship in Cardio-Pulmonary Pathology. The program will include 48 weeks of education and training in diagnostic cardiothoracic pathology, including an understanding of molecular techniques and research training in the field of cardiothoracic pathology. Educational and research activities will take place in the Department of Pathology of the NYU School of Medicine at NYU Langone Health. The diagnostic cardiothoracic pathology curriculum will comprise direct training in macroscopic and microscopic evaluation of cardiothoracic specimens including heart and lung transplant pathology. The program will include training in gross examination, frozen section preparation and interpretation, histopathologic diagnosis, and molecular pathology relevant to the diagnosis, prognostication, and personalized therapy of cardiothoracic diseases. The fellow will attend and present cases at intradepartmental conferences including the weekly multidisciplinary lung tumor board, cardiothoracic transplant and interstitial lung disease conference, and will participate in didactic presentations to the Department of Pathology.

Requirements: Trainees must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York and have completed an ACGME-accredited training program in either anatomic pathology (3 years) or combined anatomic and clinical pathology (4 years). The trainee should possess sufficient qualifications for appointment to the medical staff. MUST hold a NY State License/Limited Permit prior to the start date. Visas: NYU only offers J-1 visas through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) to candidates in need of visa sponsorship.

Stipends: Commensurate with the level of training.
