Hematopathology Fellowship
Led by director Nicholas Ward, MD, NYU Langone’s Department of Pathology offers a one-year post-residency fellowship position in hematopathology. Our fellowship is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Every year we accession more than 4,500 solid lymphoid tissue specimens, 2,000 bone marrow specimens, and 11,000 flow cytometry specimens. Our partnership with the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine provides us with access to additional materials.
Hematopathology fellows gain in-depth experience in the diagnosis of hematopoietic diseases, as well as in histology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and molecular pathology (next-generation sequencing and non-next-generation sequencing). Fellows are encouraged to participate in faculty-led research projects or to develop research projects of your own. An optional second year of training for a single position is also available for qualified trainees who are interested in pursuing a research career.
