High Quality Drug Education

While school-based health education programs exist, teachers, counselors, and schools across the country continue to face significant challenges in providing high-quality drug education to their students.

The Prevention Education Partnership (PEP) of the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine at NYU Langone Health and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue seeks to transform the current model of drug education by deploying doctors and future doctors into schools. Our mission: to keep youth safe, healthy, and out of the emergency department.

Through PEP Talks, an evidence-informed, teen-approved substance prevention curriculum, PEP engages doctors and other healthcare professionals in conversation with teens, parents, and teachers, while teaching life-saving skills proven to reduce harm.
