Heart disease is the number one cause of death in women in the United States. One of five centers selected to be part of the American Heart Association Go Red for Women Research Network, NYU Langone Medical Center’s Sarah Ross Soter Center for Women's Cardiovascular Research investigates the causes of heart attacks in women and researches new approaches to manage stress in those who have suffered a heart attack. In addition, our multidisciplinary research center oversees a fellowship-training program focused on research in cardiovascular health and disease in women.

We invite women to take part in one, two or all three of our studies at participating medical centers. These studies are designed to help physicians treat women with certain types of heart attack for which the best treatment is currently unknown.
