Division of Epilepsy Events
NYU Langone’s Division of Epilepsy hosts regularly scheduled conferences that cover topics related to electroencephalography (EEG), epilepsy, electromyography (EMG)–nerve conduction studies (NCS), sleep, evoked potentials, and neuromuscular diseases. Held every Thursday at 12:00PM, conferences are prepared and given by faculty for both residents and fellows. In the latter half of the year, EMG-track fellows, supervised by attending physicians, present cases and discussions.
Multidisciplinary Conference
At our weekly multidisciplinary conference, held on Mondays at 3:30PM, cases of patients being considered for surgery are presented to members of NYU Langone’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, including epileptologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, and nurses.
Didactic Lecture Series
The Comprehensive Epilepsy Center offers a weekly didactic lecture series on Wednesdays at 8:00AM, presented by NYU Langone faculty, visiting faculty, and fellows. All EEG-track fellows also present. Topics range from case presentations to epilepsy EEG review to research from visiting faculty. All fellows are invited to attend, and fellows on service at NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital are expected to attend.
EMG Journal Club
EMG Journal Club meets monthly, typically on Monday evenings, immediately after the last case of the day. Our epilepsy fellows each prepare and present an article. The group then critically reviews the articles and identifies key teaching points and practice improvement methods. Fellows are encouraged to choose articles based on clinical questions or problems that have recently arisen in the EMG–NCS laboratory.
