Seminars by Postdocs in Neuroscience: Extramural Series

The Neuroscience Institute hosts Seminars by Postdocs in Neuroscience: Extramural Series, or SPiNES, which allow established postdoctoral researchers from outside of NYU to present their work in an hour-long seminar, to meet one-on-one with faculty, and to engage our community in informal discussions. Being selected as a SPiNES lecturer can provide an exciting opportunity for postdocs to share cutting-edge research and to receive feedback from NYU faculty, postdocs, and students.

Our aim is to attract a diverse group of talented neuroscientists. Help us spread the word by urging postdocs from your department to apply. We strongly encourage applications from women and underrepresented minorities. Speakers will receive an honorarium in addition to reimbursement for travel and lodging expenses.

SPiNES Nominations

We are now accepting applications for the 2024–25 Seminars by Postdocs in Neuroscience: Extramural Series, or SPiNES program.

To be considered for committee review, candidates must provide:

  • a CV (3 pages max)
  • research summary (300 words max)
  • research image (optional, limited to one)

To apply, please complete the SPiNES nomination form. Nominations for the 2024–25 SPiNES Series will be accepted until 5:00PM ET on August 1, 2024. Applicants will be notified of decisions by email before the end of August.
