Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship

NYU Langone’s Department of Ophthalmology offers a two-year Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship that provides a broad and balanced spectrum of experience in medical and surgical retina, inherited retinal dystrophies, uveitis, and pediatric vitreoretinal disease. Our mission is to educate and train exceptional vitreoretinal surgeons that provide thoughtful and expert care and who become world class clinicians, future leaders in the field, accomplished scientific investigators, and effective educators.

VIDEO: NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship offers a broad and balanced spectrum of experience in medical and surgical retina, inherited retinal dystrophies, uveitis, and pediatric vitreoretinal disease.

Fellows gain experience in optical coherence tomography, optical coherence tomography angiography, fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography, ultrasonography, and electroretinopathy. Fellows also have access to and gain experience with additional imaging modalities at the Imaging Research Center.

At the end of their tenure, fellows are proficient in managing all aspects of vitreoretinal surgery and medical treatment. This fellowship also has a significant research component, based on our belief that scholarly activity is critical to the development of future leaders in retina care.

Fellows can expect to gain comprehensive experience by rotating among a number of locations, including NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Center East 38th Street, and many of our affiliated outpatient clinics; NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue; and the Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of New York.
