Division of Clinical Genetics
Experts in the Division of Clinical Genetics, part of the Department of Pediatrics at NYU Langone Health, provide individualized genetic evaluations, counseling, and testing for children and adults, including prenatal counseling and carrier testing. The Clinical Genetic Services team provides these services for children through Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone. We also study undiagnosed diseases that have a possible genetic cause through our Pediatric Undiagnosed Diseases Program.
Faculty members train residents and medical students in genetic evaluations and counseling through electives, clinics, patient consultations, and case conferences. Trainees learn about reproductive genetic counseling, carrier testing, and genetic counseling on hereditary cancers.
Division researchers investigate the role of genetics in various conditions to expand understanding and develop new treatments.
