Division of Developmental–Behavioral Pediatrics
In NYU Langone Health’s Division of Developmental–Behavioral Pediatrics, clinicians diagnose and manage pediatric developmental–behavioral conditions in several locations, including Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, and NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull. These sites include developmental assessment and management clinics; an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) clinic that assesses and treats children with learning disorders, ADHD, and related comorbidities; a child neurology clinic; and the Bette Blauner Center for Promotion of Parenting and Child Development at Bellevue.
Division faculty also train future developmental–behavioral pediatricians through a three-year Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)–accredited fellowship, a one-month rotation for pediatrics residents, and an elective and selective for medical students.
The division’s nationally recognized, externally funded research program focuses on poverty-related disparities in critical child outcomes, including child development, obesity, and chronic disease. The faculty’s studies have demonstrated a role for the pediatric primary care setting as a universal platform for promotion of school readiness through enhanced parenting interventions.
