Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology & Hepatology
Experts in NYU Langone Health’s Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology treat children and adolescents who have digestive symptoms and conditions that interfere with eating and growing, including inflammatory bowel disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, celiac disease, and fatty liver disease. The team of pediatric gastroenterologists provides clinical care at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone.
Division members provide consultations for patients admitted to the pediatric floor and the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. Experts treat children with nutritional disorders and provide guidance on their care to other clinicians. They also treat children with liver and gallbladder disease.
Physician–investigators have extensive experience in clinical care and research, studying celiac disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and fatty liver disease in children. Faculty teach fellows, residents, and medical students essential diagnostic skills and procedures and how to provide compassionate care to children and adolescents who have digestive difficulties.
Physicians in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology perform many diagnostic and therapeutic procedures at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Center East 38th Street, Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital—34th Street, and Fink Children’s Ambulatory Care Center.
The division maintains several specialized multidisciplinary programs and centers for children with gastrointestinal disorders, including the Pediatric Celiac Disease and Gluten-Related Disorders Program, Pediatric Interdisciplinary Nutrition and Feeding Program, Pediatric Aerodigestive Center, and Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program.
