Division of Pediatric Cardiology
Specialists in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at NYU Langone Health improve the wellbeing of children with cardiovascular conditions through accurate diagnosis, effective clinical care and treatments, exceptional fellowship training, and noteworthy research.
Members of the division have pioneered important advances in the field of pediatric cardiology. The division was the first to introduce pediatric cardiac catheterization to the New York City region, and members have made substantial contributions to research on rheumatic fever and are responsible for important innovations in the medical and postsurgical care of children with congenital heart defects. The division is a leader in pediatric heart imaging, pediatric electrophysiology, and pediatric cardiac surgery.
The division offers clinical services and educational and research opportunities at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. Members work with the Congenital Heart Program at NYU Langone’s dedicated Congenital Cardiovascular Care Unit, which provides educational and research opportunities that help us make advances in clinical care.
The team includes cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, cardiac intensivists, nurse practitioners, neonatologists, cardiac anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists, and intensive care nurses. Together, they treat a high volume of patients and perform thousands of cardiac imaging studies each year, including fetal imaging, transesophageal procedures, MRI and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), cardiac CT scans, and stress testing. Experts in the cardiac catheterization laboratory provide diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology services for children and adolescents.
