Division of Pediatric Rheumatology

Specialists in the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at NYU Langone Health treat children who have autoimmune conditions, including juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and juvenile dermatomyositis, at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone. Pediatric rheumatologists use early diagnosis and treatment to control the disease process as quickly and safely as possible.

The division trains medical students and residents through the four-week pediatric rheumatology elective, which is offered year-round. A selective for medical students wishing to learn about caring for children with chronic diseases is also available.

Members of the division also focus on research and serve on advisory boards and provide support and education for a number of organizations, such as the Arthritis Foundation, the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group, and LANtern® (Lupus Asian Network®), a national, hospital-based, bilingual support and education program.
