Overview

Introduction to research in the NYU Division of General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovation.

The Division of General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovation has a large and growing portfolio of extramural funding. Core research domains include Patient Safety, Shared Decision Making, Practice Management, Medical Education, Hospital Medicine, Obesity, and Clinical Innovation. Our faculty also collaborates with other departments to conduct research related to comparative effectiveness, cost effectiveness, post-operative care, behavioral economics, informatics and e-technology, chronic disease and substance abuse prevention and treatment, and immigrant health.

We strive to be an integrated community of investigators that generates high impact research by bringing diverse approaches and methodologies to bear on advancing individual and population health, supported by such shared resources as practice based research networks, large observational databases, innovative educational assessment methodologies, virtual cohort studies, and integrated research capacities across the IT platforms of our diverse hospital systems.
