Internal Medicine Residency Commitment to Health Equity
The Internal Medicine Residency program in NYU Langone’s Department of Medicine is committed to recruiting, training, and mentoring all physicians. Our patients come from a variety of backgrounds, with a common right to high-quality medical care. To provide them the best care and succeed in the advancement of medicine, we strive to support and train physicians of all backgrounds.
Our Strategy
Our program has long had a commitment advancing health equity and creating a culture of inclusion. This includes:
- resident and faculty development through a combination of lectures workshops, and simulation experiences
- ensuring through our feedback processes that all residents feel welcome in our community and learning environment
- supporting research through the Department of Medicine’s Farber Program in Health Equity, including house staff-specific grant opportunities
DIMOND Program
Established in 2000, the DIMOND Program promotes inclusive culture among faculty and house staff, while facilitating their personal and professional growth. DIMOND is heavily involved in our residency program and participates in recruitment, mentorship, curriculum, and wellness.
