Developmental Genetics Mentoring Faculty

If you indicate an interest in Developmental Genetics when you join the Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, you are assigned a faculty mentor during your first year to help with the following:

  • selecting a rotation lab by providing information about the different labs available in our program
  • advice about course offerings and requirements
  • choosing a lab for PhD training based on your interests

Ideally, your mentor should be a person with whom you have not chosen to do a rotation. This allows your mentor to be an independent source for scientific and personal advice about conducting research and managing life as a student.

Laboratories performing research in Developmental Genetics includes over 40 faculty members from NYU Grossman School of Medicine . Faculty are associated with different departments, and students can conduct research in any of the faculty members’ laboratories at either campus.
