Dr. Zhou specializes in both biostatistics and bioinformatics, with a focus on analyzing high-throughput sequencing data, including metagenomic, metatranscriptomic, proteomic, and human genetic data. Dr. Zhou has developed multiple statistical methods for detecting or simulating genetic variants in human and microbiome sequencing data. His research interests also extend to develop novel methods and pipelines for analyzing multi-omics data, leveraging machine learning and deep learning algorithms to enhance data integration.

Dr. Pan’s work focuses on high-throughput sequencing data, particularly in RNA-seq and multi-modal data integration, with significant innovations in single-cell RNA-sequencing clustering and RNA, protein expression integrative analysis.  Her primary interest lies in developing statistical and machine learning methods for object-oriented data analysis in the multi-omics field, with the goal of advancing biomedical and biological research.
